Envisioneers: Orangeburg Youth Action Researchers
With an emphasis on access, equity and creative thinking, Write to Change Foundation launched a new initiative called Envisioneers. Project participants, including youth age 18-25, will investigate experiences and disparities within the juvenile justice system within South Carolina. The participants will present findings from a youth perspective, focused on Orangeburg County as a piece of the justice puzzle in South Carolina.
Goals
With young people as allies, action researchers, experiences, and insights, the goal of the Envisioneers of Orangeburg County (EOC) is to form a grassroots community alliance, serving as effective advocates for an equitable and safe juvenile justice system in Orangeburg County. The EOC alliance will increase their own and their community's awareness of juvenile justice issues, becoming effective advocates for an equitable and safe juvenile justice system in Orangeburg County.
